The Webb's Not Bummer Summer

The summer for the Webbs was full of various activities. We were definitely trying to have a "Not Bummer Summer." We saw lots of movies, did lots of crafts and enjoyed sleeping in. It was a summer that we probably won't have again. Here are some of the highlights of our summer.

Family Reunions:


Spent a week at G-Mommy and Grandaddy's and met some new friends:


Attended VCC Vacation Bible School:



Attended soccer camp:



Took swim lessons:


Played an indoor soccer season:


Spent a week in Houston at Grandma's and Papa's:





Went to Fashion Camp:


Went roller skating:


And found the simple pleasure of a fake moustache from Kroger's bubblegum machines:

April Updates

Seems like the months are flying by and lots of blogging has been missed. Here is a run down of what the Webbs have been up to for the month of April.....

We had the end of soccer - first season without any rain outs!!!





Jackson had his egg drop for school in the rain.



Final result - it broke.


We celebrated Easter at my house with my family.



I chaperoned Jackson's Kindergarten class to the Fort Worth Zoo. The good news is that they only gave me two kids to watch with one of them being Jackson.



Their favorite part was touching the snakes. Which wasn't first on my list of things to do.



They may not have liked my approach to completing the zoo but we saw it all during our allotted time frame. Five minutes into the bus ride home, this is what my kiddos were doing. Quietest bus ride home ever!

Soccer Season starts

Jackson really wanted to try soccer again so we are giving another go. His team are the Tornadoes. No Wolverine appearances yet, only a mid-quarter rush to the bathroom while he was suppose to be on the field. Overall, major improvement over last year!

The Dragons

Last week started the fall soccer season. This year the Pink Dragons had girls join the team from the Little Red Hots. They changed the name to Dragons and changed the uniform color to red.



They are on the big field now which is about the size of a football field. Jenna is one of the goalies. The first week Jenna did great but it was a huge learning experience for all the girls.



This week Jenna made several diving saves for the team. For that she was awarded the MVP of the game. Way to go Jenna!

FC Dallas Game

During the summer Jenna and Jason were glued to the World Cup. So Jason decided he would take Jenna to see a professional soccer game one weekend in September to see FC Dallas. They even were treated to fireworks after the game. Jenna had a blast!

Pink Dragons

Last Saturday we celebrated the end of the soccer season. We had a game scheduled for a Monday and GLASA decided to wait until the lightening was near to call off the game. The ref told us we would not make up the game but called on Friday night to tell us the other team forfeited. Not exactly how we wanted to end the season. The Pink Dragons all got together for a swim party.

These girls have really grown as players and as teammates. It will be exciting to see what the Fall season holds as they increase team size, field size and strategy.

One Busy Weekend - Soccer

We left Sweet & Sassy before cake and presents and headed back to Flower Mound for soccer pictures and an afternoon soccer game.



Grandma and Papa were able to watch Jenna and the Pink Dragons in a win. It was a little windy but a nice day to play soccer.



After the game the siblings (notice Jackson in the bottom of the picture) couldn't help being part of the team huddle.

Finally the End of Soccer

So the weekend of November 14th we finally finished the soccer season. After several make up games due to rain, a couple of wet and muddy games, we finished. Jackson's team had some moral victories. His last game he almost scored a goal and there was no Wolverine in sight.



Jenna's game was a little more difficult. They had only lost one game the whole season and this game proved to be a hard one. The girls were all tired and it was super hot for November. Jenna did a good job and played her heart out but the Pink Dragons weren't able to finish on top. The next day we celebrated with her end of year party.



We did register Jenna for Spring soccer but we are still contemplating if we just wait for next Fall to register Jackson. Maybe he will be more discipline at 5 years.

Texas - ou Weekend

So Saturday was the annual Texas - ou weekend here in Dallas. Our friend Steve was so kind to invite Jason and all that comes with him to the game. Really, you have to watch Jason at a Longhorn game to understand. At least there were no pillows to throw at the TV there.

Anyway, what did I do while he was at the Fair / Game? Glad you asked! I was at an 8 am soccer game for Jenna which meant I had to be there around 7:30 am. It was super cold. Then I had to miss GameDay - which only a few people know that I live for that on a Saturday. Drove to Highland Village to do a couple of errands. Then take the kids to McDonalds. We have to go inside because they want a special toy. Of course, I get the trainee. This is all around kickoff. The guy messes up the order so I wrestle with do I say anything and wait or just take the order. I just took the order. Then we finally get to the house. Watch an hour of the game before Jackson's soccer game. At least I wasn't that parent with the radio going while their kid is playing soccer (there were two on Jackson's team). Jackson scored a goal and the main thing is he was 'focused'. All to get home to see the Longhorns pull out a win. All this while Jason was having not one but two Fletcher's corn dogs at the Fair.

He had fun and the kids were relatively good for me. All in all a good Saturday.

Since we have been back...

This is my attempt to get current on my blogging (or at least in the month of October).

We had soccer games, soccer pictures, Mary Poppins, and the Pumpkin Patch.

 

Jenna is having a successful soccer season despite the many reschedules due to rain. Jackson on the other hand has a good game, then the next game decided it was cool to be Wolverine on the field. That wouldn't be so bad if he didn't show his blades to the opposing players.



Jenna and I went to see the Broadway traveling show of Mary Poppins - loved it! Grandma, Jenna is ready for the real Broadway!

 

Finally, no rain so we could visit the two Pumpkin Patches in Flower Mound.

While We Were Gone...

While we were in Alaska Jenna and Jackson spent some quality time with the grandparents and the rain. The first leg was Grandma and Grandpa.



They did some crafts, practiced a little soccer and even got to spend some time with their cousins Quinn and Chloe.





The second leg was G Mommy and Granddaddy. Again, the rain continued. Granddaddy got to break out those elementary school math skills which brought back flashbacks from him being my 3rd grade math teacher.



On Saturday morning Jackson played his first soccer game and he played his friend Brendan's team.





Then Saturday night G Mommy and Jenna then went to Rylee's birthday party at Sweet & Sassy. Happy 6th birthday Rylee!



G Mommy and Granddaddy finished Sunday with another soccer game. This time Rylee's before picking us up at the airport.
