Corpus Christi

This weekend we had a long weekend and a well overdue family vacation. Thursday we arrived in Corpus Christi and the first thing we did was head to the beach. The kids had a blast in the sand and water.

Friday morning my parents joined us to the Texas State Aquarium but first we had to go over the great big bridge. OK, not really a metal bridge person (love the wooden New England ones but not so much the ones that would have me plummeting to my death).

We saw a dolphin show, an otter show, a bird show, touched the sting rays and saw all kinds of fish. I liked it so much better than the Houston one and was so much cheaper.

Afterwards we looked at the Lexington from afar. Didn't really want to chase Jackson through that - maybe when they are older!

Saturday we drove to Kingsville and visited King's Ranch. It is a ranch the size of Rhode Island that has been there since 1853.

After the Ranch we spent the evening catching up with all our cousins. We had a good time and the kids got another chance to swim at my cousin's pool. All in all it was a relaxing weekend despite the 7 hour drive!

Swim Lessons and Legos

We finished swim lessons on Thursday. Jenna was doing cannonballs off the diving board like she was a teenager. Don't know where she learned that, but she had great form. She sharpened her strokes and is ten times better than last year.

Over the weekend we made a visit to the Lego Store in Frisco. Jackson discovered the wonderful world of Legos. Now they are all over the place like landmines. This is how he entertained himself during swim lessons. Of course this is before he found the water gun and shot directly at me. How an one armed kids can maneuver a water gun with such aim? He is talented.
