Lowry Family Christmas

Sunday we had Christmas lunch with my Mom's side of the family. The boys especially loved Uncle Brad's iphone games.

And a Sunday wouldn't be complete without a little napping.

The Nutcracker

Later Saturday night we headed to watch the San Angelo Civic Ballet's production of the Nutcracker. It is mainly performed by children. It was a lovely time out with the girls.

Buse / White Family Christmas

The weekend before Christmas we celebrated Christmas with my family. We started with my Dad's side of the family. We had a good time talking and looking at old pictures. Here is my Dad and his siblings.

Here is Granddaddy and G Mommy with the grandkids (minus Jackson who didn't want to take pictures)

Later that afternoon we exchanged gifts as a family in between watching the high school State football game.

The aftermath of the gifts...

This is where Barney chose to place himself during the gift exchange

The Polar Express

This year's Christmas parties at school had an uniformed theme - The Polar Express. It was held in the gym and each grade had the same activities. There was cookie decorating, snowmen bowling, wrapping contest and a snowball fight.

The Kindergartens had a visit from a special guest.

Christmas Play

The daycare had their annual Christmas play and this year Jenna was an angel and Jackson was a donkey. Very proud of both of them. Jenna had some lines and Jackson managed to stay still and perform.

Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving this year in Houston. It was a quick eat and run for us as we headed to Austin for the game in the cold.

We had a beautiful table

Annual Mother - Daughter Game

November 20th was our annual Mother - Daughter Texas game. It was an afternoon game so we didn't have to get up quite so early to drive down. It was a non-conference game that Texas actually won so it was a good one for Jenna to attend.

Jenna still liked watching the band.

Or maybe getting on the Jumbotron was her favorite this year.

Since it was an afternoon game Jenna got to see the tower turn orange at the end of "Eyes of Texas."

Great day with Jenna! She started asking football questions and tried to understand the game. Wonderful memories that I remember sharing with my Dad as a kid.

World Series 2010

Jason received early birthday presents. He was able to attend a game for each of the series of post season play at the Ballpark. He even got to attend 2 games of the World Series. Here are some of his pictures. Happy birthday Jason!

This is a cool crowd shot of the guys at Game 3 - October 30th

And the same shot for Game 4 - October 31st - notice Jason watches the Rangers in the same position

Finally a Santa Photo!

So most of you have seen last year's Santa fiasco picture...

About a month ago Jackson started drafting his wish list on the Lego website. At that point we kept telling him that he would have to give Santa the list otherwise he wouldn't know what he wants. So on Thursday we took the opportunity to go to Bass Pro to visit Santa. We did it to avoid the crowds but realized that it could take multiple visits to actually get a Santa picture. Jenna went first and told him want she wants.

Then he walks up and gives Santa his two page list and barely talked to him, but he took a picture. Progress!

And even took another picture with Jenna!

It was at that point that we realized some of our friends were doing the same thing. The boys even went and took at picture together. What a difference a year makes.

Jennifer's Birthday

The week of my birthday I had the opportunity to be off from work. I didn't log in to anything work related so it really was a vacation. My goal was to purge through several bins of things before the holidays are upon us. So I was working but I tried to do something for myself each day. I had dessert, walked places instead of driving, got my toes done, got my hair done, went to the movies in the middle of the day with Jason and slept in a few days.

We went to dinner on Macaroni Grill and my kids were good which is really the only gift I needed but Jackson scored me some free chocolate cake! Jenna took the very close up picture so I have like four chins.

The kids drew me birthday cards while we waited for our food.

Scarecrow Day

Last week Jackson's Kindergarten class celebrated Scarecrow Day. Since Jenna had the same celebration when she was in Kindergarten we already had the shirt and supplies or at least so I thought. Now I was off work that week so I did clean out my craft / sewing supplies. So needless to say I did have to purchase some more items. Here is a picture of my two Kindergarten scarecrows.

Halloween 2010

This year I was alone during Halloween while Jason dressed up as a Ranger fan at the World Series. Jenna was an 80's girl with full on crimped hair in a scrunchy. While she was getting ready there were a lot of questions of why and all I had was because it was the fad back then.

Jackson was Wolverine complete with claws. We thought that we would have him kick a soccer ball as an inside joke but decided against it.

We started well before dark but surprisingly it takes forever to walk the neighborhood. We had a blast though! Happy Halloween everyone!

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

Last Friday we went to the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown at Bass Pro. The store had masks to color, free pictures with the Peanuts Gang and trick-or-treating around the store. Which is more challenging than it sounds. We then treated ourselves to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. It didn't hurt that both the kids were free.
