First Day of School

Another summer is gone and so comes the start of school. Jenna is going in the fourth grade and has the pleasure of rotating to five different teachers. Jackson is going into first grade and has a whole new level of responsibilities.

End of School Activities

End of school finally came on June 9th, but before that we had some End of School events. Jenna read her Dolphin Tale to her class.

Jenna had her awards ceremony. She was only one of four in her class with perfect attendance for the year. Way to go! Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Emmett.

Jackson's Kindergarten class had an End of School swim party at a friend's house. Jackson had a great time.

The last day of school we walked to school one last time.

After school some of the moms celebrated the end of school with line dancing. It was a first for me!

May updates

In May we were as busy as we were in April. At the beginning of the month Jason chaperoned Jenna's field trip to the Ballpark at Arlington and happened to see Josh Hamilton practicing.

The school had Family Fun Day and the kids learned how to fence. Those are real foils.

We visited Legoland Discovery Center with G-Mommy and Rylee and Reese.

Jenna had her dance recital. This year she had three dances. She did a great job and really had a blast this year.

Jackson had his Kindergarten Award / PTA performance at school. Of course his performance was during the tornadoes/severe hail that hit the metroplex that night.

Both the kids were recognized for their published works with an Author's Tea.

Jenna finally had enough money saved to buy a new American Girl doll so we had a Mother / Daughter shopping afternoon at the Galleria.

April Updates

Seems like the months are flying by and lots of blogging has been missed. Here is a run down of what the Webbs have been up to for the month of April.....

We had the end of soccer - first season without any rain outs!!!

Jackson had his egg drop for school in the rain.

Final result - it broke.

We celebrated Easter at my house with my family.

I chaperoned Jackson's Kindergarten class to the Fort Worth Zoo. The good news is that they only gave me two kids to watch with one of them being Jackson.

Their favorite part was touching the snakes. Which wasn't first on my list of things to do.

They may not have liked my approach to completing the zoo but we saw it all during our allotted time frame. Five minutes into the bus ride home, this is what my kiddos were doing. Quietest bus ride home ever!

Open House

This year at Open House Jenna participated in the Third Grade Wax Museum. She had to pick a character that has contributed to society and do a research paper and dress in costume as that individual. Jenna decided that she wanted to be Shirley Temple Black.

Around the school were individual artwork from the students. Jackson was so excited to show us his artwork!

Jenna had her art displayed from the art show as well as another piece.

Jenna's Spelling Bee

Jenna participated in a spelling bee for her MTA group. She was excited and since she had only been in MTA for 2 weeks was a huge accomplishment for her. She spelled all her words correctly and received a trophy and metal after the ceremony. Way to go Jenna!

Jenna's First Art Show

Jenna had her first art gallery showing on January 28th. The showing was for the school district grades K - 12 and each school selects a handful to show. Jenna's was called "Black and White Scissors". She was so proud and excited. Great job Jenna!

The Polar Express

This year's Christmas parties at school had an uniformed theme - The Polar Express. It was held in the gym and each grade had the same activities. There was cookie decorating, snowmen bowling, wrapping contest and a snowball fight.

The Kindergartens had a visit from a special guest.

Scarecrow Day

Last week Jackson's Kindergarten class celebrated Scarecrow Day. Since Jenna had the same celebration when she was in Kindergarten we already had the shirt and supplies or at least so I thought. Now I was off work that week so I did clean out my craft / sewing supplies. So needless to say I did have to purchase some more items. Here is a picture of my two Kindergarten scarecrows.

Heroes

This month the third graders performed at the PTA meeting. The theme was Heroes. She got to hold the Pacific sign for "God Bless the USA" song. Very cute program.

Afterwards Jackson wanted to show us his artwork. One of his drawings was selected to go on the Art bulletin board and was the first one shown on the morning announcements. As you can see this is a self-portrait and he even drew his backpack on his drawing.

Our family project was to color and decorate a pumpkin as a family. So Jenna colored, Jason glue the pom poms on and I helped with the stickers. Of course, my son with the mathematical mind (shocker since I loved math as it caters to my type A personality) had to have everything in a pattern.
